With a world-renowed architect, an eye catching design, and a premium plot in Birmingham city centre, The Cube Birmingham is set to be an excellent addition to The Mailbox - Birmingham's luxury shopping, lifestyle and social centre.

A £75m, 17-story development, The Cube is to comprise living spaces, combined with office space and restaurants. Designed by Ken Shuttleworth's practice MAKE Architects's, The Cube is being developed by BuildAbility, a subsidary of Birmingham Development Company.
On the 26th of March 2010, the BBC reported that BuildAbility, the company behind the build, had gone in to administration. At present the future of The Cube is unclear, as it is nearing completion. "BuildAbility, the company developing The Cube, close to the Mailbox, said it had been unable to reach agreement with a bank over funding. Pricewaterhouse Coopers, which has been appointed as administrators, said it was holding talks with stakeholders."
Following discussions, administrators reported that their aim was to complete The Cube project.

The Cube features an innovative automated car parking system developed by Wohr Parking, who created a similar system at Beetham Tower in Birmingham. Open to residents, owners park their car on a pallet which then descends into the garage, delivering the car to a space.
To retrive their car, the owner swipes their key fob, and their car is delivered back to the entrance. The car's progress through the system can be seen on a screen, and should take no longer than three minutes.
